Movement Monitoring surveys offer clients the ability to identify and react to the movement of buildings, earthworks, structures, as well as natural features. Often an insurance against requirement third party claims, it is vital that instruments of the highest accuracy and standard of practice are adopted.

Monitoring Surveys
ASES has experience in the correct installation, movement monitoring and reporting for residential and commercial developments.

The use of high angular accuracy total stations and the ability to act rapidly translates into a reliable, cost-efficient movement monitoring service that informs parties of any movement that might exceed specification trigger values. This is achieved simply with the use of reports and graphs.

Monitoring building movement is an important process that helps to ensure safety and structural integrity. This is typically done through a variety of sensors and other remote movement monitoring equipment, which can detect any shifts or vibrations in the structure of the building.

By using this technology, engineers can assess the risk of any damage due to excessive movement, as well as identify any potential areas of weakness or instability. Furthermore, the data collected from monitoring systems can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of various construction and repair methods, allowing for more efficient mitigation strategies. In addition, building movement monitoring can also enable authorities to respond quickly to any issues that may arise due to seismic activity or other environmental factors.

A structural or building movement survey is carried out on the advice of a professional, such as a Party Wall Surveyor or Structural Engineer. If a building or structure is at risk of movement, then a structural and movement monitoring survey is commissioned.

Vibration Monitoring

Vibration Monitoring is a process of measuring the vibrations and movements of structures in order to determine their condition and safety, as it can help detect any damage or weakness in structures.

Vibration monitoring measures the effect of traffic, heavy plant or machinery have on nearby structures and allows engineers to take preventive measures against dangerous structural collapses.

As with all our services, ASES utilise the latest technology in order to offer our clients high-quality and efficient work. Our remote vibration movement monitoring equipment continuously monitors and checks on the levels of any shocks and / or vibrations. Our battery-powered devices, with wireless GSM communication, saves on installation time and money. They also provide real-time data that allows for quicker reactions to situations.

Vibration Monitoring

Our tri-axial geophones monitor any vibrations. If any vibrations reach alarm thresholds, notifications are sent in the form of text (SMS) or email messages. Peak particle velocity (PPV), acceleration, velocity and displacement are measured within a frequency range – from 0.3Hz to 500Hz. All of the results are stored and can be viewed at any time via a secure web bureau, as an audit trail or graph format.

ASES are land and engineering surveyors with 15 years of experience providing movement monitoring solutions for residential and commercial developments within greater London and surrounding counties.
